The last few years have been marked by travel warnings, strikes and a lack of airport staff.
The fact that a holiday can be canceled at short notice is therefore a risk that many travelers are now all too aware of.
According to a recent survey by HanseMerkur
, 68 percent of vacationers who take out travel insurance choose
travel cancellation insurance.
However, the selection of tariffs is large and not all offers are understandable for the consumer at first glance.
So how do you find the right insurance for your individual needs?

A current test by
Stiftung Warentest
provides some information about this .
The auditors took a closer look at a total of 138 tariffs - both for singles and for families as well as for single trips and for annual contracts.
Tariffs were selected that are generally combined with travel interruption insurance, as this also covers risks in the travel destination.
All insurance companies also waive a deductible in the evaluation.

The result: TravelSecure (Würzburg) received the best grade (1.5) for an individual contract for singles and families.
In the annual contracts category, both TravelSecure (Würzburg) and Europ Assistance received a grade of 1.5 for their tariffs.
The tariffs are available for trips up to 3,000 euros from 104 euros for singles and from 117 euros for families.
