China stressed that unilateral sanctions, especially those imposed by the United States, impede the economic and social development of countries.
"It is to strengthen the rule of law in the international arena that we must resolutely reject unilateral sanctions, because no country may submit its internal laws above international law," said China's delegate to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, during a session of the UN Security Council, according to Tass agency.
"Some countries impose unilateral sanctions without basis and outside the framework of international law, which impedes the economic and social development of countries and poses huge humanitarian problems in violation of the principles of fair competition and the market economy," the delegate of China said.
Zhang stressed that some countries, especially the United States, are clamping down on the technological institutions of other countries and artificially undermining supply chains, pointing out that the system based on the rules promoted by Western countries has pushed the world towards chaos and raised many problems in the world.
