More and more federal states are relaxing their corona rules. In Bremen and Lower Saxony, the obligation to isolate will no longer apply in a few weeks if the test is positive. The situation is different with the mask requirement in public transport.

Bremen and Lower Saxony have announced the lifting of the corona isolation obligation.

From February 1st, infected people will no longer have to isolate themselves, as a spokesman for the Bremen health department said.

Lower Saxony's Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) had previously announced the end of the corona isolation requirement in her state.

The corresponding ordinance expires in Lower Saxony on January 31 and will not be extended.

So far, the Corona Ordinance stipulates that infected people are only allowed to leave the isolation five days after the positive PCR test.

Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Schleswig-Holstein had already lifted the isolation requirement in November.

Thuringia wants to end it on February 3rd.

Lower Saxony had extended the regulation several times.

Mask requirement in public transport remains

In local public transport, on the other hand, the mask requirement should remain for the time being.

There is not yet a specific date for the end of the public transport mask requirement, as the Bremen spokesman said.

The aim is to proceed uniformly with neighboring countries.

Behrens made a similar statement.

Several federal states had already lifted this obligation, but the majority wanted to keep it for the time being at the beginning of the year.
