A series of legal advisers to the government and state attorneys in the past strongly attacked today (Thursday) the plan promoted by Justice Minister Yariv Levin to weaken the justice system.

In an unusual letter, the executives wrote that "we were shocked to hear" about Levin's plan and that "we are convinced that this plan does not herald the improvement of the system but threatens to destroy it."

The letter is signed by former advisors Aharon Barak - who was also Supreme Court President, Avichai Mandelblit, Yehuda Weinstein, Manny Mazuz, Yitzhak Zamir, Michael Ben-Yair, and Elikim Rubinstein.

In addition to them, former state attorneys Dorit Binish, Edna Arbel, Eran Shander and Moshe Ledor are signatories.
