The individual who assaulted several users of the Gare du Nord as well as a police officer was placed in police custody on Wednesday evening January 11 for attempted murder, the Paris prosecutor's office told

The state of the individual, wounded by bullets and whose vital prognosis was engaged during his evacuation, was deemed "
compatible
" with this measure, still according to the prosecution.
Around 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, the respondent randomly attacked several users of the Gare du Nord as well as a police officer using a metal hook.
Present on the spot, two border police officers (PAF) on patrol intervened at 6:43 a.m. to neutralize the suspect.
Six people were injured: two male users of the station aged 36 and 41 respectively, three women aged 40, 47 and 53 as well as one of the police officers assigned to police at the borders aged 46.
The identity and nationality of the suspect, in his twenties, are still being verified.
He had no identity documents on him when he was arrested.
He could be of Libyan or Algerian nationality, according to the Paris prosecutor's office.
He was also targeted since the summer of 2022 by an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF).
