2 / 10"Banjo will give up soon": With these words, the Nuremberg animal shelter was desperately looking for a new family for the Rottweiler.

The four-legged friend had to wait over a year, and there were never any serious inquiries.

But then a 51-year-old discovered him.

"I said to myself: I'll get you out of there," she describes the moment on Facebook.

“Everyone said I was crazy.” There were already two dogs in her family, including a Rottweiler.

After a six-week "trial period" he was allowed to move in permanently with the family, who lovingly takes care of him.

And Balou managed to do that too, losing "a whopping 17 kilos".

"Incomprehensibly" the four-legged friend still had to wait almost a year for a new family.
