Lawyers are demonstrating today (Thursday) outside courts across the country in protest against the plan to weaken the justice system promoted by the government.
The protest is led by the protest organization "The Robe Struggle", which called for a one-hour strike.
Demonstrations are expected outside the courts in Tel Aviv, Nazareth, Jerusalem and Haifa.
On behalf of the organization "The Cloak Struggle" it was stated that "We want to thank the thousands of people who mobilized and the high responsiveness of the lawyers to the protest. This responsiveness shows the support we have for the struggle for the robes and for the goal that stands before our eyes - stopping the attempt to destroy the justice system. The statements heard from all directions are a clear danger to Israeli democracy "Tomorrow, we will shut down the courts for an hour symbolically, in order to illustrate to the public that the expected changes in the system are in practice - shutting down the judiciary."
