Various major projects are underway in Neuhaus.

Almost 50 apartments will be built in the next few years.

This means an increase of at least 100 inhabitants for the small district of Schliersee.

- "Neuhaus will lose its character," said Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer at the 2019 town hall meeting. Three years later, this change is in full swing.

To a certain extent, this can be substantiated by information provided by Jörn Alkofer at the most recent town hall meeting.

The manager let it be known that Waldschmidtstrasse would not be renovated until the construction sites were completed.

The most prominent is certainly the gym, but by no means the only one.

If you look at an aerial photo of Neuhaus in the summer of 2022, there are various gaps in the actually quite green Schliersee district: all building areas, mostly even larger projects, in which several residential buildings are being built where a single-family house once stood on a large garden plot.

Plot sizes of 1500 square meters are not uncommon in Neuhaus.

The area on Waldschmidtstraße just south of the Dürnbach is really huge.

The 7,500 square meters were once even considered an outdoor area, until the surrounding development, cleverly implemented by the Stadler construction company, moved closer and closer and the municipal council then drew up a development plan.

Three single-family, two double and two multi-family houses, each with eight apartments, are being built there - and are already being offered for sale as the "Wendelsteinblick" project, reference:

City Hall needs to be staffed

Curiously, another property developer also calls his project a few meters further south “Wendelsteinblick”.

Two apartment buildings with a total of 13 apartments are being built here, four are available (38 to 122 square meters), also for a square meter price of just over 10,000 euros.

Anyone who has driven along Waldschmidtstraße to this building site has already passed some recently built residential buildings and is next to the gymnasium under construction.

The next construction project is right next to the school: According to the building notice, twelve apartments and a single-family house are being built – the latter for 2.89 million euros (194 square meters of living space) is still on the market.

Mind you, these are only the larger projects with several residential units.

Everywhere in Neuhaus is being built and compacted.

In recent years, the agendas of the building committee have sometimes included more than 20 items.

Accordingly, the mayor would like to strengthen the building authority in the town hall – among other things, so that Alkofer, as managing official, does not have to look after the municipal construction sites such as the gymnasium and, next, the fire station.

It is recognized that he does this perfectly, but this is not actually part of his area of ​​responsibility and eats up working time.

Neuhaus should get significantly more residents

Another major project, this time on Josefstaler Strasse, has come to a standstill: the construction of the Rewe supermarket with apartments above it.

On this almost 5,000 square meter site there was previously only a single house.

When “Unser Schliers”, as the project is called, is finished, there will be 20 residential units, half of which have already been sold.

Here, the price per square meter is usually less than 10,000 euros.

With the planned completion by the end of 2023, it will almost certainly not be possible.

As reported, the planning will be supplemented due to concerns about flooding.

The supermarket, however, should be ready in time.

If only because otherwise Rewe could theoretically withdraw from the project.

The almost 50 residential units mentioned here, which will be completed by 2024 at the latest, roughly mean at least 100 more new houses in one fell swoop.

For comparison: Schnitzenbaumer named 2750 residents in Neuhaus at the town meeting in 2015, this year there were 2851, also 100 more.

Just over a period of seven years.
