Winter sports enthusiasts are having an extremely difficult time this season.

Snow is scarce.

This hardly deters many, as videos on social networks demonstrate.

Munich – So far there is no trace of the white splendor in the lower elevations this winter.

Some ski areas in the Alps have completely ceased operations.

For sworn winter holidaymakers, the weather conditions so far have been a disaster.

Even when snow cannons are running at full speed.

Those who stayed at home can only shake their heads at white ribbons on green meadows.

Ski madness in Ischgl – TikTok videos show piste traffic jams

Videos from the Ischgl ski area (Austria) are currently providing plenty to talk about.

There is obviously snow on the groomed slopes, but it doesn't look like skiing.

Skiers cavort on a descent like in a hidden object picture.

Sometimes the winter sports enthusiasts slide down the mountain side by side.

At a narrow point, people pile up on their skis.

Little can be seen from the ski paradise in Tyrol in the short clips.

Valley descent in Ischgl – winter sports fans pile up on the slopes

The situation comes to a head when the last valley descent is due.

Then all hell seems to break loose on the slopes from 4 p.m., as documented in a TikTok video.

The reactions to the clip, which probably comes from Ischgl, are mixed, but mostly mocking.

"It has nothing to do with skiing anymore," comments one user.

"The money would be too good for me," says another user.

Madness on the slopes in Ischgl - videos show bizarre scenes

Hardly any room for a swing.

Skiers just getting in each other's way can be seen in another shot titled "Ischgl 4:30 p.m. valley descent."

Some just slide down the slope on the bottom of their pants, others tear down a whole group.

Of course, at the end of a long day of skiing, you lose your strength.

But the masses on the slope are enormous.

Scenes like this happen regularly on the valley descent in Ischgl.

It gets full before 4 p.m., according to various comments.

However, one user points out that at that time there was an accident involving a helicopter operation with the runway being closed.

That's why it would have jammed.

My space

The lack of snow this year is extreme.

So far there has been little to see of powder snow and winter fun.

Snow is forecast in Austria for the next few days.

A small consolation.

According to researchers, the forecasts for the future are bleak.

The natural snow is getting less and less.

In Austria, 13 people have already had fatal accidents on slopes in the current ski season, as reported by the Austrian Board of Trustees for Alpine Safety (ÖKAS).

In many places there are only narrow artificial snow bands on the valley runs, says the President of the German Ski Instructors Association, Wolfgang Pohl, the German Press Agency.

Off-piste falls are very dangerous.

Artificial snow is also not without.

The technical snow is denser and harder than natural fresh snow.
