If you wanted more proof that the automotive world has changed, then by looking at the list of models that excelled in the crash tests in 2022 published by the European safety organization EuroNcap, you will find American, Chinese and one Korean models, and no representation of European or Japanese models.
In total, the organization tested about 67 models in the past year, of which no less than 53 vehicles received the maximum score, an impressive figure that indicates a continuous improvement in the safety of the new models despite the tightening of the safety organization's requirements.

The big surprise was actually recorded by the Chinese automobile industry, which in the not-too-distant past often provided embarrassing scores, and in recent years has shown a dramatic upgrade in safety.
In the past year, 9 Chinese models were tested for the European crash test and with the exception of one that was satisfied with a score of four stars, all the rest received the maximum rating.

The person who excelled the least in the crash tests this year was the European automobile industry, no less than 10 of the 36 models tested were satisfied with a score of 4 stars.
11 Japanese models were tested this year and two of them were satisfied with four stars.
From the American car industry, 5 models were tested that all received the full score and out of 6 Korean models that were tested, only one received a score of 4 stars.

In the list of the best in each category, the Tesla Model S leads the category of executive cars, and next to it, the Model Y leads the category of "small" recreational vehicles.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the standout of the large family car category, the Chinese WEY Kopi 01 surprised and leads the large recreational vehicle category, while the Asar ORA Funky Cat, also from the Chinese Ha Beit Great Wall, leads the small family car category.

In the other categories, the organization did not select additional honorees because there were not enough contestants that were tested.
The degree of excellence was awarded due to the weighting of the vehicle's score in the categories of protection for adults, protection of passengers, protection against pedestrian injury and the equipment of the models with advanced safety systems.
