On video: Shai Tahan (public relations)
About a month ago the winds stormed.
A woman, a resident of the city of Ramat Gan hurled harsh sentences at an ultra-Orthodox family that came to the neighborhood playground, "You are like termites, don't come here," the woman slammed the ultra-Orthodox mother and children.
Politicians from all parts of the political spectrum sent reactions and the media in Israel covered the affair extensively.
Rabbi Shai Tahan, head of the Sha'arei Ezra community and head of the Arzi HaLebanon teaching house, connects the words to this week's parshat - Parshat Shemot, in which the Torah tells that the women of Israel gave birth to six in one birth.
The language of the Torah: "And the children of Israel flourished and flourished and multiplied and became very strong and the earth was filled with them."
And the sailors explain: And they will spawn like vermin - six in one stomach.
Rabbi Tahan explains: In the Shavuot Parsha we see that many children are a blessing and how come to this day there are those who see a negative side to it like that woman who called the ultra-Orthodox children "termites"?
