A serious accident has occurred near Ellingen.

Two cars collided near Ellingen.
A woman (95) and a man (56) were injured.
The elderly woman died that same afternoon.
Ellingen - A serious car accident occurred near Ellingen (Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district) on Wednesday, January 11th.
Two cars were involved, one woman died, as the Central Franconia police said in a press release.

According to the press release, a 95-year-old wanted to turn left at around 1.45 p.m. from the Ellingen district of Massenbach onto the B13.
Apparently she overlooked the Renault of a man (56) coming from the direction of Ellingen.
Both cars collided at the intersection.

Both people were injured by the force of the impact.
The man and the elderly woman were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
The 95-year-old died there later in the afternoon of her injuries.

Officials from the Gunzenhausen Police Inspectorate took over the investigation into the cause of the accident on site.
The B 13 was closed for the duration of the accident recording, the press release concludes.
