Six people were killed, as a result of thunderstorms and a tornado that swept through central Alabama yesterday.
Reuters quoted a spokeswoman for the mayor of Otoga County in the state as saying: Six people were killed in the storms, without providing further details.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey declared a state of emergency in six Alabama counties severely affected by the storms: Otoga, Chambers, Kosa, Dallas, Elmore and Tallapoosa.
