The accessories are the ones that completely transform the look and we noticed that this year the trend is completely different from everything else. We consulted with an expert on the subject and she revealed the eight strongest trends.

For most of us, jewelry is the last thing we put on before heading out for the day.

It makes sense;

Even if you're sporting the underwear-as-daywear trend, you should still prioritize covering your body before accenting it with embellishments of all kinds.

But instead of letting your earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings be an afterthought, consider positioning them as the heroes of your look, and the 2023 jewelry trends are ones you shouldn't overlook.

This season the jewels have more intentions than ever.

Personalized, playful, identifying and above all striking.

You are going to want to use them all together.

Timeless and everyday accessories will always have a place in our closets, but it never hurts to see what is in style.

That's precisely why we turned to Victoria Lampley, founder of The Stax, a jewelry and style consultant, to weigh in on industry patterns for the new year, both from her meetings with designers of fine jewelry brands and of his experience with clients.

Below, Lampley's take on the best jewelry trends for 2023.

SIREN

Once a viral discussion topic on TikTok and now among top jewelry designers, mermaidcore, with its dreamy, oceanic, and beachy motifs, is becoming a mainstay in the fashion world.

“I've noticed a major uptick, something our New York editor, Harling Ross, and I have recently discussed when favorite jewelers perfect this aesthetic,” says Lampley, who mentions designers like Renato Cipullo.

CUSTOMIZED

Pieces from designers like Daniela Villegas and Harwell Godfrey that feel different from the rest.

“I have had many clients looking for opulent, golden, meaningful, custom made investment pieces.”

"These pieces are often based on an insect or symbolic creature with customizable stones to reflect family birthstones and significant colors."

CONTEMPORARY RELICS

In that sense, now is the time to invest in modern heirlooms, or better yet, jewelry that looks like it came from another era.

Lampley cites Jenna Katz, Prounis, Darius Jewels and Loren Nicole as designers who create pieces that look like they belong in an art or history museum, attributing the look to the 22 or 24 karat gold they work with.

PERCHED GEMS

This year, according to Lampley, designers in both the high jewelry and fine jewelry spaces are creating looks with stones that could, and do, stand on their own.

“I've seen a big trend toward 'hanger' rings, where the gem is set on top of the band and/or encased in gold,” she says.

RINGS

Along with the rise of oversized jewelry and accessories, ear cuffs are getting bigger.

"They're still a major trend, and they're getting bigger and bigger," Lampley says.

Make a statement this year and add some flair from Ana Khouri or Natalia Pas.

FOUND OBJECTS

Embrace the world around you with jewelry made from fragments of it.

From snails to stones.

All objects of nature are worth showing off.

POWERFUL LINKYFINGER

“To me, the pinky is the most feminist piece of jewelry,” says Lampley, highlighting styles by Nina Runsdorf, Jenna Katz, and Natalia Pas.

"It really goes back to the 1920s and 1930s, when many suffragettes started wearing them to represent self-love."

Well, that's reason enough for us to get on board.

LABORATORY GROWN

dr

One may be familiar with lab-grown diamonds and gemstones, which generally result in more sustainable and ethical methods than traditional natural stone mining.

Lampley shares some of her favorite designers: Anabela Chan, Dorsey, and Or & Elle.
