C&A branches in Germany will be closed again in 2023.
Several cities were affected by this.
But in the west, customers can take a deep breath for the time being.
Cologne – In the course of the corona pandemic, the fashion chain C&A has tackled a major restructuring.
In addition to a new brand strategy, several branches were closed throughout Europe.
And in 2023, these will go even further.
Upon request, C&A has officially confirmed that several German locations are closing.

After 13 C&A locations in Germany were already closed in 2022, further closures will follow in 2023.
For the time being, there are only branches in northern Germany, more precisely in Schleswig-Holstein.
"The reports about the closures in Kiel, Rendsburg and Elmshorn are correct.
As part of regular analyses, C&A came to the decision to close these branches," company spokeswoman Claudia Junge told 24RHEIN.
C&A did not want to give more precise reasons or further details about the closures.
"Please understand that we do not release any data on employees or precise information or background information about the store closure," explains Junge.

On request, C&A is extremely cautious about further branch closures in Germany.
"As part of regular analyses, C&A comes to the decision to adjust the store portfolio," said Claudia Junge.
It cannot therefore be ruled out that further shops will close in 2023.
When and where, however, C&A does not want to reveal.
"We do not pass on precise information on closing dates and planning and ask for your understanding," explains the company spokeswoman.
At least in some of the major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, C&A customers do not have to fear any closures for the time being.
"Branch offices in Cologne and Düsseldorf are not affected by closures or are currently planned," says C&A spokeswoman Junge.
The company has not commented on other branches in NRW.
The situation is similar in other federal states, because the C&A branches in Göttingen and Duderstadt are also to be retained, reports the
HNA
.
There doesn't seem to be a real wave of closures at C&A in the near future.
The situation is different with other large shopping companies.
More than 90 branches of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof are threatened to close, and Primark and Görtz are also currently closing branches.

C&A modernizes stores across Europe
In addition to the closures, there are currently many C&A branches being redesigned.
"In the past 18 months, C&A has modernized more than 730 branches across Europe," spokeswoman Claudia Junge told 24RHEIN.
This includes, among other things, the new black and white logo of the fashion chain.
Despite the closures, the fashion company says it wants to continuously invest in the remaining stores "to optimize the shopping experience of our customers."
