Jean-Marc Mansvelt, CEO of Chaumet, had been nurturing this idea for several years but was waiting for the most opportune moment to launch the initiative.
“
The day has come today
, he explained Thursday at the launch of the project.
For nearly two and a half centuries, Chaumet's creations have conveyed culture, history and meaning.
Regularly, we support artists, institutions (such as the Manufacture de Sèvres, Fontainebleau or the Louvre, among others).
We initiate
exhibitions
to share the history of jewelry and the house, but also the history of France.
We are convinced that culture makes life more beautiful.
And we want to encourage and celebrate the "transmitters of culture", these women who are committed, in the field, everywhere in France, to making beauty shine.
»
The jewelry house is therefore launching its Echo Culture Awards these days, a project which is intended to spread to several countries but is launched in France to reward local projects, in all cultural professions.
All women with a project (existing or to be implemented) that contributes to spreading culture through places, content or initiatives, can participate and send a file by mid-March.
A jury chaired by actress Sandrine Kiberlain and the CEO of Chaumet, Jean-Marc Mansvelt, will then meet to elect the three winners, who will receive on April 18, 2023 one of three prizes of €50,000, €25,000 and €10,000.
“
Art is most often the result of teamwork.
A team that unites those of shadow and light.
This personal adventure with the Chaumet house allows me to take advantage of my exhibition to enlighten those who, hidden, make artistic and cultural projects see the light of day
,” explained Sandrine Kiberlain.
Chaumet is also working on this issue with the Thanks for Nothing association, which plays matchmaker on various artistic and solidarity projects.
