The city's financial situation is tight.
Therefore, income is needed.
Among other things, the treasurer has parking fees in mind.
At least in the case of the event forum, it's not that easy.
That's why you want to concentrate on the center first.
Fürstenfeldbruck – In the run-up to the budget consultations, Treasurer Marcus Eckert brought up parking space management.
Among other things, fees could be charged at the festival site.
Jan Halbauer (Greens) also called the event forum.
But after a conversation between Eckert, finance officer Klaus Wollenberg (FDP) and Fürstenfeld boss Norbert Leinweber, the topic is off the table – at least for the time being.
At the event forum?
The event forum with the many visitors would offer itself as a source of income.
But there is a big problem: If fees are introduced, many exceptions would have to be made due to contractual agreements.
Among other things, former mayor Sepp Kellerer has guaranteed visitors to the farmer's market a free row of parking spaces, as Wollenberg reports to the daily newspaper.
The Fürstenfelder is also contractually entitled to 22 parking spaces of its own, which should be exempt from the fees.
There are also regulations for the shared use of the parking areas with the police college.
And the municipal utilities are creating two parking spaces for electric cars, which should also be free of charge.

When asked by the Tagblatt, Leinweber said he was not a fan of parking fees anyway.
Since the public connection is not as good compared to the Olympic Park, for example, the good parking space is an advantage - a location advantage, especially for congresses.
"And the parking lot is used by everyone, including visitors to the museum, the church or the Kunsthaus." Strollers and restaurant visitors would also benefit from the free parking spaces.
At a cost, he fears, many will look for parking spaces in the surrounding streets, leading to chaos.

camera systems
Treasurer Marcus Eckert sees this less critically.
“We have to get away from the classic parking machines there.
But there are systems that work with a camera.” In this way, you can also issue long-term parking permits.
But that's music for the future.
Because in the conversation it was agreed that the city should first concentrate on the center, and thus also on the fairground, and develop a parking space management concept for this.
"In the medium term, however, we will also consider Fürstenfeld," says Eckert.
"Because it's not uncommon for the parking lot to cost a few euros if you're going to a musical or the theatre."

Elsewhere, however, the deficit could be reduced by Fürstenfeld's own operation.
Because the bookkeeping and EDP of the event forum should be in the hands of the city again in the future.
This saves you the costs in the business plan.
According to financial officer Wollenberg, only the annual financial statements should be made externally.
Also a small contribution to the household.
Earnings budget balanced with reserves
In a first meeting, the Main and Finance Committee approved the result budget against two votes.
In the run-up, councilors had complained that the construction department was hiring more money for planning, competitions and reports than was being spent.
Stadtbaurat Johannes Dachsel explained that these sums are necessary in order to be able to implement the planned measures.
Because you can't say at the beginning how much of the money will be needed in a year, explained finance officer Klaus Wollenberg (FDP) when asked by the daily newspaper.
That's why it wasn't shortened.
In order to balance the profit budget, a global reduction in expenditure is applied - i.e. a flat-rate saving of one million euros.
The missing 2.6 million euros are taken from the earnings reserves for the years 2015 to 2017 - here the plus was greater than expected.
Willi Dräxler (BBV) applied for ten percent more to be paid for the voluntary benefits for culture, sport and social affairs to compensate for inflation.
This is to be tackled for the 2024 budget.
Now comes the deliberations on the financial budget and the related investments in mandatory and voluntary projects.
This includes the construction of the West school, but also the dream of an ice rink.
In February, the politicians in the Finance Committee will deal with these projects and see what the tense financial situation allows.
