Father Heiner Heim from the Benediktbeuern parish community is celebrating his 80th birthday on Thursday.
– For 14 years he has been the leading pastor of the Benediktbeuern parish community, which also includes Kochel and Bichl.
This Thursday the Salesian Father Heiner Heim celebrates his 80th birthday.
You don't notice his age.
Whoever hears him preach in the Marienkirche in Benediktbeuern, in St. Michael in Kochel or in St. Georg in Bichl experiences a calm, level-headed man who is good at formulating words and who likes to sing along with the hymns when he is with the faithful the melody doesn't sit so well in the pews.
On his day of honor, Heim will also hold mass at 9 a.m. in the Marienkirche in Benediktbeuern - like every Thursday.
"I'll keep it," emphasizes Heim.
Afterwards, on the occasion of his birthday, an "open vicarage" is planned from 10 a.m.
as the Benediktbeurer parish council chairman Raphael Wulfers informed.
"So that the citizens have the opportunity to congratulate him personally," says Wulfers.

On Friday, January 13th, an evening is planned for the volunteer workers of the parish community, during which Heim's birthday will also be celebrated.
A big festival is planned for July on the occasion of Heim's 50th anniversary as a priest.
This should be celebrated in a big way together with the clubs of the parish community.
The planning for this was already under way.
Wulfers, who already knows Heim from his time as director of the monastery in Benediktbeuern - an office that Heim held from 1991 to 2003 according to his own statements - appreciates the clergyman above all "for his open nature" and for his great commitment as a pastor.
"He is a priest and pastor with all his heart," says Wulfers.
“I don't think there are many pastors who are still leading a parish community at the age of 80.
In addition, the Benediktbeurer is also a fairly large parish community.
In the three local Catholic churches, a total of around 13 services would be held each week, which Heim held with the support of other clergymen from the monastery.
This includes baptisms and funerals.
On his 80th birthday, Wulfers wished Father Heim “above all health.
And that he stays fit for a long time to come."
Because you can't see Heim's age yet.
The celebrant himself has no wishes – at least not material ones.
"I just wish for a good togetherness and that we continue to be a good community."
