Fire in the Oise: a body discovered by firefighters in an apartment

For reasons that have yet to be determined, a fire broke out last night, around midnight, on the third floor of a building located in the hamlet of Le Tillet, part of the municipality of Cires-lès-Mello, in the south of the Oise.

According to the first findings, it was in an apartment from which the disaster could have started that a charred body was found by the firefighters of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of Oise .

This Friday morning, the victim had not yet been identified.

Twenty people relocated

"The origin of the fire is currently unknown," explains the public prosecutor of Senlis, Loïc Abrial.

The identification is in progress within the framework of the investigation opened for research of the causes of death.

The latter is led by the gendarmes of Chantilly.

Twenty occupants of this twelve-unit building also had to be relocated.

"The town hall of Cires-lès-Mello had offered to temporarily accommodate them in a gymnasium in the town, but everyone was able to find a solution with relatives or family", details a gendarme.

Six minor injuries are also to be deplored, four tenants of the building but also two firefighters affected during their intervention.
