Foolish carnival season begins: glamorous enthronement of the Olching carnival guild

Based on the film "The Greatest Showman", the FGO wowed its audience.

Olching – The official royal couple of the city of Olching was presented for the first time with a glamorous presentation on Saturday, January 7th.

The celebratory coronation was a highlight and this year's motto was: "The Greatest Show".

Appropriately, a black cylinder was brought onto the stage with an artistic trapeze number as a symbol for the show, which then transformed into an oversized cylinder on stage with fire effects.

From this emerged Princess Amelie I. and Prince Luca I.

Royal couple receive insignia of power

The two then received the insignia of power – scepter and crown – from President Martina Klein-Minigshofer.

After receiving these insignia, the princely couple may call themselves loveliness and madness.

After sustained applause and the performance of the Prince's Waltz, Mayor Andreas Magg handed over the key to the town hall so that the regents could govern the city until Shrove Tuesday.

Among the 600 guests were many representatives of Olching's political prominence and Pastor Josef Steindlmüller.

The congratulations were then opened by the departing princely couple from the previous season, Jessica I. and Philipp I., who handed over the princely chain.

Congratulations followed from patrons and sponsors of the carnival guild as well as from several friendly guest companies.

"Spirit of Motion" enchants

Then the show dance group "Spirit of Motion" presented their new show with the motto "The Greatest Show" to thunderous applause.

The court marshals Nadja and Guido Amendt moderated.

The trainers Gerhard Maier and Franziska Riedl had brought an impressive and fast-paced show to the stage in the past few months.

This year's motto "The Greatest Show" is based on the well-known film and implemented with unique elements and elaborate costumes.

This year the Högl Fun Band played for the dance again.

They ensured a good atmosphere and a full dance floor until late at night.

Technical framework at the highest level

Since December 27th, the multi-purpose hall in the Schwaigfeld middle school has been transformed into a festive ballroom by around 30 members of the Olching Carnival Guild (FGO).

For this purpose, more than 20 tons of material were carried into the hall - carpets laid, walls taken down, stage, dance floor, tables, chairs, decorations and much more set up.

The visitors entered the festively decorated ballroom via a red carpet.

The hall light went on, the band started to play and thus the long planning and construction phase was coming to an end.

Traditionally, the FGO starts the carnival season with its enthronement right after the New Year.

The technical framework of the enthronement gala was at the highest level.

The next events

The next event highlight of the Olching Carnival Guild is the Garde Festival on Sunday, January 29 (admission at 2:30 p.m., beginning at 3 p.m.) in the Puchheim cultural center.

In addition to the FGO dancers, eleven other Gardens will be performing there.

Tickets are available at Jeans House Olching on Nöscherplatz and at the box office.

There will also be a carnival party for the little ones on February 19th in Kolpingheim Olching.

Advance ticket sales for this will also start on February 4th in the Jeans House Olching on Nöscherplatz and at the ticket office.

Start is at 2.30 p.m., admission at 2 p.m.
