At only 27 years old, she now teaches at the University of Würzburg.

Alicia von Schenk is one of the youngest professors: "Age difference was never an issue"
Alicia von Schenk was born in Heidelberg, where she graduated from high school in 2011 as the best in her class and began studying mathematics there at the age of 16.
She was always the youngest in her class.
However, that never bothered me.
"Just like everyone else, I had my interests and leisure activities." During her studies, she quickly built up a network of fellow students with whom she spent her free time and shared vacations.
During her bachelor's degree, Alicia von Schenk discovered her enthusiasm for applications in the field of economics, which is why she devoted herself to this subject in parallel studies.
Two masters followed the bachelor courses.
One in Mathematics and one in Quantitative Economics at the Graduate School for Economics, Finance, and Management.
During her doctorate she founded a start-up with the aim of creating AI-based networks using intelligent word processing.
27-year-old junior professor Alicia von Schenk: How do students react to her?
At just the end of 26, she started out as one of the youngest professors at the University of Würzburg.
"I really like the contrasts of the city as a young, lively place with a very traditional university and impressive buildings such as the fortress and the residence." She is already looking forward to the water sports season on the Main.
Since she also likes to walk the family dogs in the forest, she is currently thinking about an "office dog", as she
reveals to
Merkur.de .
"I'm also a passionate photographer."
How do students in Würzburg react to a 27-year-old junior professor who is almost the same age as you?
"Due to the fact that I'm not so far away from my studies, it's probably even easier for me to put myself in the shoes of the students," explains von Schenk.
So far she has had very positive experiences with her students.
"I have the feeling that they are also happy to come to me to ask questions or, for example, to openly discuss the topics covered with me and with each other as part of a seminar."
In kindergarten, another career choice seemed more likely
Von Schenk did not have a classic career aspiration as a child.
"It was clear to me early on that I would enjoy explaining or questioning things more than technically demanding jobs, such as orthodontics, which my parents work in." Since her grandparents were teachers, she was sometimes allowed to come to class with them.
"I had a lot of fun with that even as a child." She has always liked to be organized, in kindergarten she was told that she would one day become a manager.
"Not quite, but academic self-organization is sometimes not that far away," she explains with a smile.
