Because of the climate crisis, young people no longer want to have children, says Green Economics Minister Robert Habeck.

The seeds of fear sprout.

But fear and apocalyptic sentiment are not good advisors.

A commentary by Georg Anastasiadis

Germany and the whole world need climate change.

Who would deny today that there are harmful effects when mankind plunders the fossil deposits and, within a few decades, blows all the CO2 into the air that the earth has previously stored for hundreds of millions of years?

For the energy transition to succeed, however, you need a cool head – and no panic.

This threatens social peace and thus also the pioneering role that Germany has committed to in the fight against decarbonization.

When Molotov cocktails are thrown at police officers in this country, the party headquarters of the Greens is occupied by climate radicals and the Greens climate minister speaks of the fear of the 20-year-olds about having children, it becomes clear that the tipping point has been reached, just differently than expected.

The climate fight will not be won with the "German Angst" and apocalyptic mood carefully cultivated by the Greens - certainly not as long as our energy transition is full of contradictions: In Lützerath, activists are fighting the extremely climate-damaging coal, to which Germany only has to switch again because because their political allies, the Greens, are blocking climate-friendly nuclear power.

At the same time, the green environmental aid is suing against liquid gas terminals.

Being against everything at the same time is not a promising path.

Anxious and headless, Germany is stumbling through the energy and climate crisis.

It's no wonder that the world doubts this model and, recognizable by the accelerated expansion of nuclear power, does not follow it for fear of blackouts and social unrest.

On Friday, Greta stopped by in Lützerath.

As is well known, she advocates the continued use of nuclear power for a limited period in order to save coal.

But she carefully concealed this from her friends who were holed up in the cloud cuckoo land of Lützerath.

She preferred to denounce the allegedly “outrageous” police violence.
