Lenggries – The Lenggries fire brigade actually had every reason to be happy, but then the keyword “blackout” came up.
The results of the annual general meeting: The 150th anniversary brought an unexpectedly high surplus, the number of newcomers is extremely high at 28 in two years.
What spoiled the mood for many a member was the topic of "blackout", which ran through all the speeches at the annual meeting.
collapse of the power grid
Commander Hans Willibald reported that the fire brigade had to procure an emergency power generator to be prepared for a power failure.
If the worst comes to the worst, a Sanka will be housed in the fire station so that the population has a central point of contact.
District fire inspector Wolfgang Stahl said that the topic of blackouts was on everyone's lips.
The power grid is becoming increasingly unstable.
It is clear that it will collapse at some point, although probably not this winter: "If it only affects individual districts or cities, everything went well." You cannot compensate for a nationwide power failure, but you still have to talk about how Municipalities “can prevent a little bit”.
Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher found that the municipality was well prepared for a blackout in terms of infrastructure, "even if I hope that we don't experience it".
For example, there has been an emergency generator in Leger for decades to secure the drinking water supply.
In this case, a feed-in point was created.
However, it is also clear that Lenggries cannot purchase 25 aggregates in order to be prepared for all eventualities.
Listeners react annoyed to the topic of blackout
"I'd like to have a bad day here, and now I'm hearing something about the blackout three times in a row," criticized one listener, speaking of "panic mongering".
Board member Sepp Willibald said he shares the thoughts, but better not say anything about it.
Even without a blackout, there was a lot to do last year, reported Commander Hans Willibald.
Lenggrieser managed 20 fire calls, 20 technical assistance and 5,087 hours of work.
Participation in the exercises was consistently “very good”.
One can be proud of 28 newcomers within two years.
Willibald predicts: "The trainers won't get bored." The fire brigade now has 125 male and three female members.
Finally there are digital beepers
Willibald further explained that the digital beepers had arrived and should be distributed after a briefing.
There is no news about the hose care system that is to be purchased.
He went to Hohenschäftlarn with the mayor, chamberlain and fire brigade consultants to inspect such a system: "We really liked it." The system will cost between 75,000 and 80,000 euros, reported Stefan Klaffenbacher.
The state subsidy has already been approved, and the municipality can count on a good 20,000 euros in subsidies.
It remains to be seen whether the expenditure can be accommodated in the household: "There are some points that we cannot calculate - such as the electricity price."

Treasurer Anton Gerg reported that the 150-year celebration brought in a surplus of 4,316 euros: "We expected less."
