A three-year-old girl died on Thursday evening after being found in a washing machine in her family home in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
It was his father and another member of the siblings who made this macabre discovery around 10:30 p.m., the Paris prosecutor's office said on Friday, confirming information from Le
Parisien
.
While she was already in critical condition when help arrived, the little girl was declared dead shortly after 11:30 p.m.
According to the elements collected on the spot, she would have died by “
suffocation
” and her body showed no trace of blows.
Questioned by the investigators, the father of the family indicated that the door of the washing machine was closed when he discovered the body of his daughter.
The device, whose “porthole closes automatically”, was “off” and had “not turned”, told AFP a source familiar with the matter.
The father and his wife, who have five children, “
did not know
” where their daughter was while they had dinner at the apartment, still according to
Le Parisien
.
They would then have started looking for her in their accommodation and also in the street before the man made the macabre discovery.
The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed to
Le Figaro
that an investigation has been opened to find the causes of the death of the little girl.
The investigations were entrusted to the brigade for the protection of minors.
