And the AFP news agency reported that a new demonstration calling for the resignation of the president appointed by Parliament, Dina Polwarti, and the holding of early elections, broke out in Lima yesterday afternoon, as witnessed by ten of the 25 regions of Peru, including the cities of Tacna, Moquegua, Puno, Cusco, Abancay, Apurímac, Arequipa, and Madre de Dios. And Huancavelica in the south and east of the country, as well as in San Martin in the north, similar demonstrations.
The demonstrators called on social media to participate in this gathering, rejecting the fall of other victims, and calling for an end to the “civilian and military dictatorship.”
Clashes between protesters and police have left at least 42 people dead since the beginning of the crisis in Peru a month ago.
