Poing soon breaks the 17,000 resident mark

The municipality of Poing is about to exceed the 17,000-inhabitant mark.
This is the result of the annual statistics for 2022.
After two years of stagnation, Poing is growing again.
Poing – The first apartments and houses in the new Lerchenwinkel development area will have been occupied in 2022 – this is noticeable in the number of inhabitants.
After two years of stagnation or a slight decline, the municipality of Poing grew again last year.
The population on December 31 was 16,957, according to the population registration office.
A new high.
This means that the number has increased by 368 over the course of the year, with 16,589 residents registered at the end of 2021.
The previous record was at the end of 2019 with 16,659.
In 2020 and 2021, the community saw declines for the first time since 2012.
Poing: After two years of stagnation, the community is growing again
The number of foreign nationals living in Poing was 3179 at the end of 2022. There were 2861 at the end of 2021.
According to annual statistics, in 2022 there were 142 births (160 in 2021) and 117 (95) deaths.
The migration numbers are also recorded: 1468 arrivals (2021: 1023) and 1125 departures (1116).
There were 421 moves within the municipal area last year.

As of December 31, 2022, 16,957 people with their main and/or secondary residence were registered in Poing.
Of these, 3179 come from abroad.

3 years and under: 710 (706)
4-6 years: 630 (596)

16-18 years: 540 (500)

With the progress of the new development area Lerchenwinkel this year, the number of inhabitants should soon exceed the 17,000 mark.
Housing for a total of around 2000 people will be created in the construction area.
The first units of income-oriented subsidized (EOF) apartments and the first apartments and houses from property developers have been occupied since the end of 2022.

According to the consortium of property developers and investors (ARGE) in Bergfeld, which also includes the municipality of Poing, a total of around 800 residential units will be built in Lerchenwinkel.
Of these, around 300 are planned as EOF apartments, the rent for which is around half the market price for new buildings (approx. 15 to 17 euros per square meter), depending on income.
According to the ARGE website arge-poing-am-bergfeld.de/lerchenwinkel, around 120 apartments will be built, the rent for which is 20 percent below the local price

Poing: 20,000 inhabitants after completion
After the completion of the Lerchenwinkel, the eighth and last development area (working title: W8) will be started.
There, too, to the west of the Lerchenwinkel, living space for around 2000 people will be created.
This means that the municipality of Poing will reach the 20,000 inhabitants that were planned decades ago in the final development of the land use plan.
