A serious accident occurred in Bavaria.
Two cars collided head-on because one of the cars swerved into oncoming traffic.

In an accident in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, three people were critically injured, including a mother and her daughter (1).
The little girl has now died in hospital, police said.

First report from January 12th
: Bad Neustadt an der Saale – There was a bad accident on Thursday morning, January 12th, in Bavaria.
On the state road between Brendlorenzen and Wollbach, Rhön-Grabfeld district, two cars collided head-on at around 7:20 a.m.
According to the police, three people were injured, some of them life-threatening, including a one-year-old child.

According to the police press release, the accident happened on St2292.
A 34-year-old mother drove her car from Brendlorenzen in the direction of Wollbach after initial investigations into the course of the accident.
For reasons that have not yet been clarified, she suddenly got into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into an oncoming Fiat.
Inside were a 32-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter.
According to the police, the mother and daughter suffered serious, sometimes life-threatening injuries as a result of the force of the impact.
The driver of the Renault, who had previously got into the opposite lane, was slightly injured.
"The rescue service was deployed with several ambulances, emergency doctors and a rescue helicopter," reports the police.
There was also a serious accident near Ellingen - a woman died of her injuries in the afternoon.

After receiving first aid at the scene of the accident, the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The local volunteer fire brigades were also in action – they had freed the seriously injured from their demolished vehicle.

The Bad Neustadt an der Saale police inspection is now taking over the further investigations into the accident.
An expert is also consulted to reconstruct the precise course of the accident.
The state road will remain completely closed for the duration of the accident investigation and the recovery of the vehicles, and traffic will be diverted.
According to the police, the "responsible District Administrator Thomas Habermann also got an idea of the situation on site".
Care for the relatives has already begun.
It may also be necessary for the emergency services to have one - this is being checked.
