Taufkirchen is hoping for 750,000 euros more income from an increase in trade tax.

The tense financial situation and upcoming investments make this step necessary.

Taufkirchen

– The increase in trade tax was the subject of heated debate in the 2023 budget.

Due to the tense budget situation and the high level of new debt due to investments, it is expected to rise from 320 to 380 percent.

As a result, treasurer Fritz Krieg is hoping for an increase in income of 750,000 euros, as he explained to the municipal council.

The assessment rate has been the same for a long time and is therefore far behind in comparison to the districts, he argued.

The dog tax is not to be increased by 50 percent until 2024, which would mean additional income of 10,000 euros.

Furthermore, several fees are to be adjusted - for example for the forest pool (ten percent) or the cemetery maintenance (five euros).

Krieg expects additional income of 30,000 euros.

Sponsors are being sought for the community bus, and rents for agricultural land, for example, are to be raised, which could bring in 20,000 euros.

The promotion of clubs and youth will also be scrutinized.

The user fees for the community hall and moated castle as well as the camping costs at Weidenhain would also be checked.

It is hoped that further savings potential that can be implemented in the medium to long term can be found in the development of a climate concept.

In addition, costs and potential savings in the middle school building and the Gutswiese project will be examined, the chamberlain continued.

AfD Councilor Harry Vollmer spoke out against increasing the trade tax rate.

"I don't think it will bring that much additional income." Because 2023 will be a difficult year for companies, many of them will still feel the effects of Corona.

"I wouldn't have a problem with that in 2024."

His party colleague Martin Huber took the same line, emphasizing that the tax rate had been deliberately kept low over the years so that new companies could settle.

He saw an increase as a stumbling block.

He also criticized the high debt, which would increase to over 30 million euros, and the interest, which would increase to 795,000 euros in 2026.

"We have no more room for maneuver."

Peter Attenhauser (AfD) complained that one would pay in advance without knowing what was coming.

He criticized the planned mega construction project on the Gutswiese, including a daycare center and medical center, and suggested alternatives.

Bottlenecks in childcare were to be solved by containers from the Pauli Bekehrung children's home.

The forest kindergarten could also be expanded.

And instead of a medical practice, a new family doctor could open in the medical center.

"Then we would have more air."

CSU councilor Christoph Puschmann countered that the long-discussed increase in the assessment rate was “an urgent recommendation for legal supervision”.

The chamberlain had calculated very conservatively, it could well be more positive.

He sees no additional burden in the tax rate because the companies could claim it for tax purposes.

"I have a stomach ache too, but I don't see a great alternative."

In Germany, the rate averages 420 percent, interjected Manfred Slawny (SPD).

"It's really just about readjustment." Sure, you don't want to "do anything bad" to the company, but you can justify the increase with good arguments, because important mandatory tasks have to be fulfilled with the income.

Mayor Stefan Haberl (CSU) finally said that there is never a right time, but there are only limited sources of income and the community's ability to perform must be guaranteed when the loans are exhausted.

He doubts that this will lead to unattractiveness for new commercial settlements, because there is not an infinite amount of land.

The new tax rates were approved by the AfD with three dissenting votes.
