Cat Max has only been living in the shelter for a few weeks.
But he has already made a name for himself among his keepers.
They simply react to his quirky behavior with humor.
The beautiful tomcat ended up in an animal shelter in Canada a few weeks ago.
Max is a few years old and just bursting with self-confidence.
If something doesn't suit him, he makes no secret of it and loves to hand out slaps in the face.
"If you don't read his body language and signs correctly, you will be beaten.
He stretches his arm through the cage and punches when necessary," Tracy Marcotullio, director of the
Oromocto and Area SPCA
shelter , tells
The Dodo

But the nurses take it with a lot of humor.
So that every employee and visitor can see what's going on at first glance, they have attached a kind of warning notice to their accommodation.
Then they write down the number of days Max hasn't struck.
His longest non-riot period has been four days.
At the moment it is back to zero days.
"It's not that he's a bad cat," defends Marcotullio.
"He's just overwrought, and when he's had enough, he's had enough."
"Like a quirky old man": Nevertheless, he is loved dearly
Almost all employees have already made acquaintance with the paw strokes.
Nevertheless, the carers love him dearly and take care of him touchingly.
You can even smile about his somewhat rabid manner.
Each employee who manages to keep the cat from hitting for a longer period of time receives a pin as a trophy.
It also serves as a small reminder of this special achievement.

"Like a quirky old man": You can wrap Max around your finger with treats
The employees now also know how to soothe the velvet paw.
"He's a treat monster.
The way to his heart is through tidbits."
Whenever his home needs cleaning, he's allowed to go outside and play with the other shelter cats.
If he comes back in, he just gets lots of treats.

While the staff enjoy taking care of Max, they hope that he will eventually find a loving new home.
However, this shouldn't be too difficult.
No sooner had the animal shelter reported about Max on social media than a large number of calls and applications started pouring in.
