The town of Deir al-Sharqi in the Maarat al-Numan area in the liberated southern countryside of Idlib witnessed a voluntary work day with the aim of improving the service situation for the people returning to their homes, and removing rubble from the streets and squares of the town.
The work in which mechanisms from government institutions, agencies, and civil activities participated included removing rubble, opening and cleaning roads, and wiring sewage lines.
The governor of Idlib, Thaer Salhab, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the voluntary work day also included the maintenance of sidewalk edges and median islands, and planting them with forest plants provided by the Idlib Agricultural Directorate, pointing out that these works constitute a step on the way to cooperation in the reconstruction of the town in various agricultural and service aspects and the rehabilitation of infrastructure. infrastructure and other service facilities.
In turn, Idlib Education Director Nader Abdo indicated that, in parallel with the return of the people to the town of Deir al-Sharqi, two basic education schools were opened after their rehabilitation, with all the requirements of the educational process, including teaching and administrative staff, textbooks and seats, secured.
Nawaf Al-Aboud, one of the town's residents, also noted the importance of these works in order to advance the service reality provided to the people returning to their homes, improve their standard of living, cultivate their lands, and invest in their business sectors as sources of livelihood for them, not to mention the role of these works in encouraging the rest of the town's residents who were displaced from it during the past years due to Terrorism to return to it again and rebuild it.
