Reason that prompted Alex Goude to launch his own program on YouTube.
Indeed, from Sunday January 15 at 10 a.m., the 47-year-old host will host “Le Goût du savoir” accompanied by a dozen teachers.
TV MAGAZINE. - How did the idea for this program come about?
Alex GOUDE.
- After all that happened during the Covid, which was a fairly substantial success in terms of images, criticism and audience and was above all very useful for children and parents in France, teachers and I was galvanized by the maintenance of France 4. We thought that we could continue our mission.
But in the end we considered that our mission was no longer useful after the confinement.
It's the life of TV.

happily replaced us, but as I like them I didn't blame them...
And so ?
Over time, the teachers and I received hundreds and hundreds of messages from children, parents or grandparents who missed us.
Cédric Clech, my friend, who had co-designed “La Maison Lumni”, tried to relaunch programs with us with France Télé but without success.
Of which act… I said to myself:
“Anyway, the children do not watch TV anymore, they are on YouTube and TikTok.
So we're going to go there
. "
With my pilgrim's staff, I called all the teachers.
Not one said no, they all said yes without hesitation.

What are you going to offer?
There will be intergenerational courses of course, but this is not a Lumni or France Télévisions privilege.
They are National Education teachers who give lessons every day in their schools.
Every week, there will also be a guest who will answer a sort of questionnaire from Proust about the school and his career.
This Sunday, we will have Gwendal Marimoutou.
I was there for his first TV in “Incroyable talent”, he was there for the premiere of “Lumni”.
He's my friend and we wanted to wink at each other.
How will "The Taste of Knowledge" be different from "Lumni"?
It's not the same show at all because we'll be live.
We will have a moderated chat on YouTube and Facebook.
Children and parents will be able to ask questions and teachers will answer.
We will also learn, for example, sign language and we will also talk about annoying subjects such as video games or the Internet... Cécile Petit, school teacher with whom I was doing "Le Jeu Lumni", has since become an NLP psychotherapist and hypnotherapist and will explain to us how the brain works, children's attention, etc.
Aurélie Callet, child psychologist, will answer the questions that children or parents ask about their place in school, self-confidence, sexuality, gender issues... and many other things.
All that in two hours?
If we announce two hours and it lasts two or three hours, who cares, we're on the Internet!
We have no limits.
Then, we will cut all the sequences, reassemble them and also put them on YouTube.
If someone misses the live broadcast, they can either watch it in full of course or the sequences that interest them.

Where will the show be filmed?
Everyone will be at home.
I equipped all the teachers with a ring light
[lighting commonly used by content creators]
and a microphone.
I am thinking about how to arrange my home, to know where I put the camera.
It's going to be a bit rustic but it has a certain comfort.
Some teachers are afraid of not being able to answer questions.
I reassured them by telling them that by being at home, they could search on the Internet if necessary.
What level of class will be covered by these courses?
We will start with the lowest level of reading and we will end with the highest.
We will not learn to do 1+1=2 but we will take examples from concrete life and things that are a little more technical.
This is not the CP level but a CP student will be able to follow the program very well.
The idea is whoever you are, you're going to learn something.

Why did you choose Sunday, the day off, to broadcast this program?
We all agreed to choose the day and time.
We said to ourselves that if we wanted to address the greatest number of people, Sunday morning was really not bad.
Thus, parents will be able to say to themselves:
“Rather than spending time on a screen watching stupid stuff, you are going to have intelligent screen time”
.
Parents will be able, with confidence, to leave their children in front of “Le Goût du savoir” or watch with them to discover tips.
And if the success is at the rendezvous?
We will increase the pace.
The goal is to also add Saturday and Wednesday.
And if it really works well, we'll do it every day during the holidays.
The team is quite large, there are all the Lumni teachers and others joined when they discovered the press release.
We start with sixteen teachers, which allows us to rotate a little because not everyone is available all the time.
Do you plan to publish these videos on other social networks?
TikTok videos do not have the same format as YouTube.
So we're going to make one to three minute videos that we'll put on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
In this way, people will be able to say to themselves:
“Le Goût du savoir is the benchmark programme”

Will teachers be paid?
They will be when we are.
So far, they have all come voluntarily.
They are so happy to all be together because they had a great time, it's something that marked our lives, we all had an exceptional time together.
It was a crazy time.
We all found ourselves with our masks, terrified, we took off our masks for the time of the show so that created links.
“I doubt that France Télévisions wants to tell us that it is not a good idea”
How did France Télévisions react when it learned of the launch of your show?
When the information came out, France Télévisions just asked me to remove all references to Lumni... I kindly explained to them that in the same way as they had announced:
"The M6 host is coming to France televisions»
, I was not dependent on the choice of journalists to evoke my CV or our past to the teachers and to me by titling "The Lumni team returns...".
They had to make choices for budgetary reasons I guess, I understand, no worries.
But now, we're going to continue our desire to teach and learn while having fun, and we're going to help children and families in France to have smart screen time on Sunday mornings on a medium they love. ... I doubt that France Télévisions wants to tell us that it's not a good idea.
But if they want us to do “Lumni” again together, no worries.
Did you appeal to the Ministry of National Education?
We are in discussions for them to support us.
As they are only National Education teachers, there is no reason why they should not.

How do you feel a few days before the premiere?
I'm in a panic because I don't know much about YouTube.
We are learning how it works to hope that everything will work out on Sunday.
I imagine that we will improve from week to week.
We are doing little credits, a little funny stuff, to understand what we have the right to do or not on YouTube.
For example, we can't put known music live otherwise they cut the stream.
I ask questions to YouTube which answers me very kindly.
Sunday for the premiere, I'm not convinced that there will be many people but the idea is that as we go along, we manage to federate.
Do you have other projects?
When France Télévisions decided to stop "Is there no mistake?"
when we were the leader on the box, they told me not to worry and that they were going to relocate me... In the meantime, I work a lot for Micromania, we are the European leader in live shopping.
I still have my shows.
I'm preparing for the return of
Menopause
, I also have a show in Las Vegas and I'm working on my first film.
What is it going to talk about?
It's a detective story where I'll play a crazy cop.
With the production, we have almost finished V1 so we hope that we will shoot this year for a release in 2024.
