The Julnar Ensemble, in cooperation with the Shams Academic Ensemble, presented a dance show directed by Ali Hamdan at Al-Hamra Theater in Damascus, as part of the Children's Theater Festival, which is held by the Directorate of Theaters and Music at the Ministry of Culture, coinciding with the remedial school holiday.
The show relied on stimulating children's living memory through Disney world characters with a mixture of visual and auditory dazzle, with the aim of benefiting from the role of theater by influencing the child and moving his imagination.
Director of Al-Hamra Theater in Damascus, director Muhammad Al-Salem, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the idea of the Children's Theater Festival is based on attracting children to learn about the theatre, to be a space to unload their creative energy within an organized world directed to build a fun and useful culture.
Al-Salem indicated that all the works that will be presented within the festival are selected by a specialized committee in the directorate to choose the performances, starting with reading the theatrical text and following up on preparation for it, leading to presenting it in an optimal way to be an interactive theater that sends educational messages to children and the family that carry the meanings of humanity.
The director of the Julnar Ensemble and the director of the show, Ali Hamdan, explained that today's show came in cooperation with the Shams Academy Ensemble, which is concerned with children's affairs, their culture and talents, and presents them in elegant and enjoyable ways to create an aesthetic, cultural and artistic space that brings together parents and children to spend an enjoyable and useful time.
For her part, Shams Academy coach Zoya Jumaa indicated that the main goal of participating in the festival is to cultivate a spirit of love and cooperation among children.
The festival, which will last until the 19th of this month, includes various theatrical and artistic performances, with the participation of theater groups belonging to the National Theater and the Children's Theater, and others from the puppet theater that will present approximately 32 works in the governorates.
