Inseparable duo: the deceased boss of the dog boutique "Ludwigs Welt", Tom Fritsch, and his Prague Ratter Ludwig.
He was an institution in Munich.
Dog boutique owner Tom Fritsch has now died of a serious illness and leaves companion Ludwig.
Munich – Music is actually always playing in the small shop on Rumfordstrasse in Munich.
Not on Friday.
"I don't feel like it," says Danis.
He is in "Ludwigs Welt", a shop for everything a dog's heart desires.
But instead of music and barking, the store is filled with sadness.
Owner Tom Fritsch died at the age of 52 after a serious illness.
He was an institution in the district and popular with Munich's masters and mistresses.
Great sadness for Tom Fritsch: dog boutique owner dies of ALS
Tom also became known through his four-legged companion Ludwig – a Prague ratter.
The dog came to Germany as a trunk puppy and via detours to Tom, who took it to his heart and took it in with him.
An inseparable duo - Tom even wrote a children's book about his little companion.
Now dog Ludwig mourns his owner.
Tom had ALS, an incurable neurological disease.
Tom Fritsch had told his numerous friends about his illness on Facebook.
That he could no longer dress and eat by himself.
He was too weak.
There is great dismay on the Internet at the death of the dog boutique owner.
"You and Ludwig were an inspiration," writes one lady.
"A wonderful soul," says another friend of the deceased.
"Incredibly sad", many write and can hardly believe that "such a fine person" is no more.
“An angel will accompany you on your last journey.
You will never be forgotten!”

Munich: Ludwig's World was a project close to Tom Fritsch's heart
Even Danis cannot yet believe that Tom Fritsch has left this world.
He has been a friend of his for many years.
The man from Munich actually lives in Greece and only wanted to stay for a short visit.
"But of course I'm staying now and helping as best I can," he says, looking around the shop.
“Tom was such a warm, open person.
People came to the shop because of him.” “Ludwigs Welt” – a project close to Tom's heart, says Danis.
Frederic Meisner has a shop for traditional costumes in the neighborhood of "Ludwigs Welt".
Tom was an institution, he says.
"And a charismatic personality," recalls the former Wheel of Fortune moderator.

Society lady and pug lover Uschi Ackermann is also shocked when she learns of Tom Fritsch's death.
"I'm sad.
That was very dear.
He loved people and animals more than anything.” Dying at this age and also from this terrible disease, that is terrible.
But she also has a comforting quote for those who knew and loved Tom: "When the sun of life sets, the stars of memory remain."
