MTR announced last Thursday (12th) that the Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail will resume operation from today.
In the early stage of resumption, short-distance train services will be resumed first. In addition to the old line running between West Kowloon Station and Futian, Shenzhen North, Humen, and Guangzhou South, there are also new branch lines going through Dongguan South and Dongguan to the new station in Guangzhou East.
The first stage is the pre-sale of tickets for the 15th to 29th of this month (the eighth day of the Lunar New Year).
After the resumption of high-speed rail operation, electronic ticket arrangements will also be fully implemented. Passengers can directly enter the gate and board the train with travel documents such as home return permits, and no physical tickets will be provided.
