What a start for the jungle camp!

"I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" never seems to get boring.

RTL can again record mega ratings this year, but has to admit defeat in a duel with the "public prosecutor" on ZDF.

Australia - On January 13, the 16th season of 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!'

This time even with new moderator Jan Köppen.

If fans of the show had initially made a tough judgment about the show, RTL is now surprising with high ratings.

However, the jungle camp cannot overtake its competitors on ZDF.

Over four million people tuned in to the "jungle camp".

Viewers remain loyal to the jungle camp, even if they initially had a clear opinion about this year's episode.

The new jungle camp candidates were "a disappointment", judged many fans of the show in advance.

But even for the show as such, many Facebook users had little good left.

The jungle camp has even overtaken the odds guarantor "Die Rosenheimcops".

On the net, they titled the show "Assi-TV" and boycotted the jungle camp.

The ratings, however, paint a completely different picture.

The opening episode of the 16th "IBES" season was a huge success.

A proud 4.26 million viewers watched the entry of the candidates and the first disgust test on TV.

Jungle camp moderators

From 2004 to 2012, Dirk Bach moderated the early hours of the TV format "I'm a star - get me out of here" alongside Sonja Zietlow.

Unfortunately, the presenter passed away in 2012 and was replaced by Daniel Hartwich.

After the 15th season in 2022, he announced his surprising end as a moderator.

In 2023 Jan Köppen will be allowed to do it.

Sonja Zietlow is the constant who has moderated the jungle camp since 2004.

She is an integral part of the show and without her, many viewers would probably lose a large part of the show.

IBES start before the Rosenheim cops

RTL was thus able to secure a market share of an astounding 21.1 percent and is thus fourth in the list of the 25 most-watched programs on January 13th.

In first place, however, is "The Public Prosecutor" from ZDF.

The television series attracted 5.22 million viewers to the boob tube.

In the target group, the jungle camp was the clear winner in terms of ratings.

It remains to be seen whether things will continue to be so rosy for the jungle camp.

At the moment, however, new moderator Jan Köppen has to take a lot of criticism.

His moderation seemed stiff and he came across as "colorless and irrelevant".
