District – The federal housing benefit reform also has an impact on the district of Miesbach.
The district office points this out and explains that there is currently “a very large number of applications and corresponding processing backlogs”.
This is due to the fact that the employees of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs will be responsible for around 1480 applications instead of 549 housing benefit applications.
Department head Tobias Sterba is quoted in a press release: "We are aware that the current situation is particularly challenging for many households due to the rising prices." However, the improvements in housing benefits on January 1st were initiated at very short notice.
The district office further explains that it has “prepared as best as possible”.
A hotline has been set up (z 0 80 25 / 70 40) and answers to the most frequently asked questions have been summarized on the website: www.landkreis-miesbach.de/wohngeld.
Regarding the suspected backlog, Sterba emphasizes: "Rest assured that our employees are doing their best to keep the processing times as short as possible."
For quick processing, it is helpful if the application is filled out completely and submitted with the necessary evidence.
"Questions that are not absolutely necessary, such as the processing status, would delay the processing of the application.
Further information is also available from the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building at www.bmwsb.bund.de.
There is also a housing benefit calculator available, explains the district office.
"Initial consultations are provided by the social welfare offices in the communities."
