DAB calls for over-introduction of minimum living space standards to avoid nano-units

The DAB survey interviewed 482 Hong Kong residents over the age of 18 about their expectations for private participation in HOS flats.

The survey results also showed that 45.9% of the respondents expected that the applicants for Private Participation Home Ownership Scheme (PSPS) would mainly be young people and young families.

Ke Chongsheng suggested that the government should allocate a certain quota to young people aged 20 to 40 and young people's families to give priority to the application, purchase of private participation in HOS, and increase the quota of subsidized housing, which can help young people to move upward.

Kwun Tong District Councilor Zhang Peigang of the DAB pointed out that in terms of supporting facilities in housing estates, 74.1% of the respondents expect shopping malls and other facilities to buy necessities, 56.8% of the respondents expect to be equipped with medical facilities, and 47.9% of the respondents expect sports and recreation Facilities are in demand.

Zhang Peigang continued to point out that 63.9% of the interviewees expected that the handover standard of private participation housing should have basic decoration, including wall finishes, floors and kitchen cabinets, among which 15.1% of the interviewees expected to have air conditioners and range hoods Machines and other medium and high-level decoration.

The Director-General of the Public Housing Federation, Zhao Guowei, said that after three years of the epidemic, the burden of home ownership in Hong Kong has increased. Zhao Guowei also suggested that the government should carefully consider the population changes in the area, and plan community supporting facilities as early as possible, including transportation, shopping malls, markets, medical facilities, sports and recreational facilities, etc. Among them, the demand for medical facilities is nearly 10% higher than that of sports and recreational facilities.
