Prosecutor and police investigate the murder of two environmentalists in Honduras

The spokesman for the Public Ministry of Honduras, Yuri Mora, told CNN that a special team has been formed together with the Secretary of Security that is investigating the violent death of two environmentalists identified as Jairo Bonilla and Aly Domínguez. .

Both were killed by several bullet wounds by hitherto unknown subjects.

The events occurred on January 7 in the municipality of Tocoa, Colón department in northern Honduras.

According to Mora, the team is made up of prosecutors and agents from the National Investigation Directorate who are in the area trying to detect evidence and find those responsible for the murder.

The spokesman for the Public Ministry added that, because the relatives of the victims opposed the legal autopsy to find out the causes of their death, a judicial process will be initiated to exhume the two bodies and carry out post-mortem analysis. required mortems.

The authorities affirm that for this reason they are investigating and seek to determine who was responsible and the causes of the double murder.
