The village pub "Im Winkel" had to close due to illness.
Regular carpenters and citizens of Marktredwitz want to save their restaurant by buying it.
Marktredwitz - "Home and second living room of numerous regulars' tables, clubs, card players, culinary connoisseurs and of course beer lovers from all over the region", with these words the village pub "Im Winkel" is described.
It is in Wölsauerhammer, a district of Marktredwitz in the district of Wunsiedel.
A regular meeting point for the regular carpenters "Die Durchblicker" - and has been for 50 years.
The restaurant has been closed since October.
The landlady had to give up the shop for health reasons, the work was simply too much for her.

With the "hammer project" regular carpenters and citizens of Marktredwitz want to save the pub.

"The dying of taverns has become a problem throughout Bavaria," explains Norbert Maiwald, organizer of the project, to our editors.
Many Bavarian taverns have already fallen victim to closures for various reasons.

"But we, the citizens of Hammerner, are fighting for our heart of the village!" To this end, they founded a citizens' cooperative - with the support of the town of Marktredwitz itself. The motto: "Do you like a beer?
Then invest!”
The owner of the tavern, the Nothhaft brewery, cannot afford the required renovation.
"We would be hopelessly in debt," said the boss at BR-quer.
"The pub was a contact point for cyclists, bikers, walkers and guests from other parts of the district," says Maiwald.
The citizens don't want a new inn, they want the well-known village pub again.
"So far we have around 70 colleagues from all over Bavaria, even from Berlin." However, a lot more is needed for the necessary renovation and the purchase of the pub.
"The required capital is estimated to be in the six-figure range," says the project's website.

“We need at least 200 fellow campaigners”
The biggest construction sites of the renovation work are the kitchen, the electricity and the sanitary facilities.
"That means: Depending on the commitment of a member of the citizens' cooperative, we need at least 200 comrades-in-arms.
One share is 500 euros.
The city of Marktredwitz is already there.”
