With the theatrical performance (Stories of Friends), the Children’s Theater Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture “Directorate of Theaters and Music” in the governorates, kicked off today at the Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture in Lattakia, in conjunction with the midterm holiday.

The festival, which will continue until next Thursday, includes two performances: “Stories of Friends” directed by Nidal Adaira, and “Adam’s Story” directed by Wissam Hussein.

According to Adeera, the festival contributes to the creation of a theatrical audience and the early entry of children into the world of theater and identification with its characters, by presenting performances that carry fun, benefit, and the ability to deliver lessons in a smooth, likable manner that is close to the child.

He noted the timing of the festival, after the end of the children's exams and the beginning of the midterm vacation, pointing out that the theater is an aesthetic, cultural and artistic space that provides a suitable place for the child and the parents, where they spend an enjoyable and useful time together.

Regarding the show, Adeera said in a statement to SANA reporter that the work includes two stories that carry an important lesson about the need to listen to the advice and instructions of parents, and not to trust strangers. .

The 11-year-old Joelle Suquor, one of the heroes of the work, found an opportunity in the festival to appear on the stage, present works that contain a lot of play and fun, direct communication with children, and enjoy their interaction with the characters she performs.

Theatrical actor Yazan Amr considered that children's performances need clear works that present their saying in a form of play and away from directness, and are able to sow smiles and spread joy among children.

Among the audience are the two girls, Yasmine Abdo, 10, and Wissam Hamda, 11, who are attracted to the theater, and it is a passion for them, whether it is acting or attending. They explained that the show today for them is beautiful and endearing, and it created interaction between the characters and the audience.
