As part of the activities of the Children's Theater Festival, which is held by the Directorate of Theaters and Music at the Ministry of Culture, the play “The Adventures of a Watermelon and an Ant” began today at the House of Culture theater in Daraa.
The show, in which young artists and musicians from Daraa governorate participated, was told by its director, Firas Al-Moqbel: It tells about a stranger who enters a small village and tries to control it, its inhabitants and its resources, and to seize a water well to sell water to the residents for money, in cooperation with one of the villagers. But the residents, thanks to their solidarity and cooperation, fail these plans, and restore life to what it was.
The director of the show points out that the main message of it is not to allow outsiders to draw our destiny and control our lives.
It is noteworthy that this theatrical performance is a combination of several theatrical texts, and it was prepared by Youssef Abu Hamad, winner of the Special Jury Prize in the Third Central Theater Festival of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization.
