Killed by her ex in front of the restaurant, with several people seeing him point a gun to her heart and then shoot her.

Because she refused to accept the end of their relationship.

Martina Scialdone, a 35-year-old lawyer, knew those quarrels of hers well because there were many times in which she had defended women abused by their husbands.

But perhaps never before Friday night would she have thought that she, like them, was in such danger.

The victim of the latest episode of feminicide is a young lawyer who dealt with separation and divorces, who lost her life at the hands of a man she no longer loved, Costantino Bonaiuti, a 61-year-old trade unionist: the man after the homicide attempted to escape but was arrested shortly after by the Police.

The episode happened around 10.30 pm in the Appio Latino district, in via Amelia, at the 'Brado' restaurant

, where Martina was having dinner with her brother a few minutes earlier.

The nightmare materialized when Costy joined her (that was how the killer called himself) trying to put an end to yet another discussion that had made her decide to give up that situation permanently.

He sat at the table trying in vain to reconcile but she ran away to the bathroom terrified and determined not to see him again: a scene that could not go unnoticed by the other people in the room.

She then she was persuaded to come out of her, but shortly after he pointed the gun at her chest and exploded a bullet, which killed the lawyer shortly after her, before the eyes of her brother who perhaps he held her dying in her arms.

Meanwhile Bonaiuti was already in the car trying to hide his tracks,

but the police tracked him down a few tens of kilometers away, in the Fidene district, north of the capital.

The 61-year-old engineer and member of AssiVolo, the Enav cadre union, had a firearms license for sporting use and it cannot be ruled out that he frequented the Tor di Quinto shooting range, the same one who ended up in the spotlight a few weeks ago for a stolen Glock by a man who in December in Fidene made a massacre by killing four women.

“Only yesterday when we saw her, she seemed serene, he was smiling as always,” say colleagues from Martina's law firm in Rome.

The only one who knew her better than her was Patrizia, with whom she could perhaps confide when discussing that affair with a man much older than her and whom her family had never accepted.

So much so that in recent times, before cutting off,

they had begun to see each other less and less and only outside the house, alone.

Hardly anyone at work knew about that affair.

"Yet she often found herself faced with cases of ill-treatment by her companions and husbands: it was a subject she knew well from a professional point of view. Instead she had to suffer it in the most atrocious way even in private. No one expected such a thing genre", reflects the lawyer Giulio Micioni, a colleague of the young lawyer, still incredulous and also unaware of that relationship.

"They had been together for a couple of years but now even Martina was convinced that it couldn't work - explains a family friend, worried about the pain of the relatives of the 35-year-old young woman - She had gone to a psychologist and understood that it wasn't the right man.

Maybe it worked in the beginning because she saw him as a father figure.

She still lived with her mother, in the apartment next to mine". In the meantime, the list of feminicides continues to grow: a few hours later, in the province of Rimini, in Bellaria Igea Marina, the bodies of an elderly couple were found: from one first reconstruction he, an octogenarian, allegedly got out of the car, shot his seventy-year-old companion and then, back in the car, killed himself.
