, points out the Defender of Rights, Claire Hédon, in a new report on the fundamental rights of elderly people living in nursing homes.
Six months before the release of Victor Castanet's investigation into Orpea, in May 2021, the Defender of Rights was already sounding the alarm about the flaws in support in nursing homes and had issued 64 recommendations to better respect the rights of vulnerable people.
Its new report takes stock of what has changed and the responses to the institution's 64 recommendations.
