About 500 poultry were stolen from coops near a kibbutz in the Gaza Strip - the investigation revealed that the thieves had the help of an accomplice from the inside.
Hundreds of birds were stolen near Kibbutz Gavram in the Gaza Strip, last Friday night.
They managed to return some of them, but there is a suspicion that some of the birds were brought to a pirate slaughterhouse in one of the Bedouin settlements in the Negev.
MGB officers arrested several suspects for questioning, including the guard who works at the location.
The MGB investigation revealed that the guard and another employee at the location provided information to another suspect in the theft.
Among other things, they told him when he could enter the farm and whether there were police in the area.
The police suspect that the arrested workers opened one of the entrances to the coop.
The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court extended the detention of the other suspect, who is not from the kibbutz.
Lawyer Eyal Avital, who represents one of the suspects, said in response that "the suspect I represent denies any connection to poultry theft. I am confident that the truth will come out soon."
