St. Heinrich – The DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen met on Epiphany in front of the St. Heinrich water rescue station for the traditional “swimming”.
Bright sunshine, an air temperature of ten degrees and a water temperature of six degrees were reported in St. Heinrich at the beginning of January.
Mathias Feichtbauer, second chairman of the German Life Saving Society, announced that these framework conditions did not deter 20 fearless DLRG members from using the so-called "Cookie Destruction Festival" for traditional swimming.
Before the brave ones plunged into the cold water, some of the participants posed with warm hats on the jetty.
Immediately afterwards, everyone jumped into the icy water and darted around the buoy where the big lifeboat hangs in summer – around 100 meters.
After that, the crowd around the stove with the hot punch was of course large and "the leftovers of cookies that we had brought with us were eaten up with relish," reports Feichtbauer.
The board around Robert Klingel welcomed around 50 members at the beginning of 2023 in front of the water rescue station.
“A few members sat together inside the warm station and made plans for the association for the new year, moderated by Sebastian Hafner, the head of “Operations”, well into the evening,” says Feichtbauer.
The training season will start in March with a large combined course for paramedics and paramedics under the direction of Sebastian Hafner.
