The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, announced this Saturday through a video posted on his Twitter account and which was also broadcast almost at the end of the Miss Universe pageant held on Saturday night at the city of New Orleans —and in which Miss United States was crowned Miss Universe— that the Central American country will be the next venue for the beauty pageant.
Who is R'Bonney Gabriel, the new Miss Universe?
"El Salvador is a country full of beauty. It has the best beaches in the world for surfing, imposing volcanoes, exquisite coffee, and now it has become the safest country in Latin America," Bukele said during the video broadcast at the ceremony.
The pageant in which Miss Universe will be crowned will take place next December.
"El Salvador is changing and we want you to come experience it," added the president.
