According to consistent media reports, former VW CEO Carl Hahn died on Saturday at the age of 96.

unanimously report, Hahn is said to have died on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the age of 96.

Hahn was CEO of the car manufacturer from 1982 to 1993 and played a key role in building up business in China and in the globalization of the group.
Hahn made VW number one in Europe.
Hahn fell asleep peacefully at home in Wolfsburg (Lower Saxony).
Born in Chemnitz on July 1, 1926, the manager laid the foundations for the global corporation during his time as head of Volkswagen (VW).
One of his greatest achievements in the group was the acquisition of Seat in 1986, the third brand in the group.
Hahn paved the way for the takeover of the Czech car manufacturer Skoda in the 1990s, when he integrated 30 percent into the VW group.
VW later increased its stake to 100 percent.

Before his rise to VW boss, Hahn had managed the tire manufacturer Continental from 1973.
Before that, he had made the Beetle big for Volkswagen in the USA.
Even at an advanced age, Hahn supported early childhood education with his foundation.
