The reason is the closure of the "PicksRaus" branch.
As reported, the post office on Prießnitzweg is currently closed.
The partnership with the operator ended after seven years;
the search for a successor proved difficult.
So that the Gartenbergers can continue to post letters and parcels in their district, the company wants to open a branch at the current location.
"We are aiming for February," Nawrath told our newspaper.
Post plans seamless transition
When asked, the spokesman also confirmed that the operator of the “PicksRaus” shop on Sudetenstraße “dismissed us at the end of May”.
Deutsche Post operates a partner branch there.
The company is also trying to find a solution in this district.
"Due to ongoing, promising discussions, we are very, very confident that we can seamlessly set up a new partner branch not far from the current location," adds Nawrath.
There are currently almost 30 “PicksRaus” stores across Germany.
The Geretsrieder location is the southernmost.
The idea: sell remaining items and overstocks to the end consumer at low cost.
