The average basket of products, in December 2022, stood at 977 shekels, this basket shows an increase of six shekels compared to the price of the basket in the previous month.

The average of the basic product basket was compiled by the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Central Bureau of Statistics and is based on the Consumer Council's data from the Pricez website.

The gap between the most expensive chain and the cheapest chain in December is 32%, which is NIS 285 from the list of chains tested.

The chain that sold the basic product basket at the cheapest price in December is "Rami Levy", when the cost of the tested basket this month was NIS 892, the same price as Rami Levy online.

After that is the Shufersal Online basket for 908 NIS, Shufersal Deal Extra for 913 NIS, Beitan wines for 916 NIS, Victory Viohannoff for 917 NIS and more.

The most expensive chains are: the market warehouses for you with a basket of NIS 1,043, Alonit in Kibbutz and Moshav with a basket of NIS 1,055 and Super Yoda with NIS 1,177.

Compared to December last year, there was an increase of NIS 34 in the price of the basic basket of products, with approximately 93% of the chains showing an increase in the price of the basket.

"Bethan Market" is the only chain that shows a drop in prices.

This, at a rate of about 0.3% (NIS 3).

On the other hand, "Mega Market" which also belongs to the Beitan Wines Group, presented the highest price increase at a rate of about 9% (NIS 90).

The products in which the highest increase was recorded are the sweet drinks following the tax on sweet drinks: a carbonated Coca-Cola bottle with an increase of 31%.

On December 22, its price was NIS 8.96 compared to NIS 6.84 on December 21. This is an increase of NIS 2.13.

Tafuzina orange soft drink also became more expensive from NIS 6.35 to NIS 7.83, a change of 23% and NIS 1.48.

The price of flour increased following the Russia-Ukraine war.

Thus, 1 kilo of light white wheat flour rose from 3.37 shekels to 4.11 shekels, a rate of 22% and an increase of 0.74 shekels.

Sweet corn kernels 340 grams became more expensive from NIS 4.64 to NIS 5.68, an increase of 22% and NIS 1.04.
