Protests in Peru leave at least 49 dead 3:04

The Peruvian government declared a state of emergency this Saturday through a decree in the departments of Cusco, Lima and Puno, and in the constitutional province of Callao, according to the Andina state news agency.
The application of the measure will be in force from January 15 and for 30 days.

The declaration of the state of emergency also covers the province of Andahuaylas, in the department of Apurímac;
as well as the provinces of Tambopata and Tahuamanu, in Madre de Dios.
And it also includes the Panamericana Sur, Panamericana Norte, Central highways, the South Apurimac-Cusco-Arequipa Road Corridor and the South Interoceanic Road Corridor.
Likewise, the decree indicates that in the aforementioned constituencies the constitutional rights of the inviolability of the home and the freedoms of transit through the national territory, assembly and personal liberty and security are suspended.
So far, at least 49 people have died in the context of protests throughout Peru, during which there have been clashes between protesters and law enforcement and that broke out after the removal of Pedro Castillo as president, which occurred on 7 from December.
